1. Employees and staff members shall perform the formalities of taking sick leave and provide sick leave forms that meet the legal requirements. Medical units usually issue sick leave slips (usually 2 weeks per time) and employees submit them to enterprises. After the examination and approval of the enterprise, the employees begin to take sick leave.
2. Within six months before a long sick leave, the enterprise pays sick leave wages. The specific criteria are as follows:
If the length of service is less than 2 years in a row, it shall be paid at 60% of the salary of the employee.
If the consecutive length of service is less than 2 years and less than 4 years, it shall be paid at 70% of the salary of the employee.
If the consecutive length of service is less than 4 years and less than 6 years, it shall be paid at 80% of the salary of the employee.
For those who have served for less than 6 years and less than 8 years, they shall be paid 90% of their salaries.
Those who have served for eight years or more in a row shall be paid at 100% of their salaries.

If the employee's sickness or non-work-related injury has taken a continuous vacation for more than six months, the enterprise shall pay the sickness relief fee, of which 40% of his salary shall be paid if he has worked for less than one year continuously; 50% of his salary shall be paid if he has worked for less than one year continuously; and 60% of his salary shall be paid if he has worked for more than three years continuously.
4. The "two guarantees" of low sick leave treatment and the "one cap" of high sick leave treatment are as follows:
The first guarantee is that if the employee's sickness or non-work-related injury leave treatment is less than 40% of the average monthly wage of the enterprise, it should be supplemented to 40% of the average monthly wage of the enterprise.
The second guarantee is that the sickness leave wage or the sickness relief fee of the employees shall not be lower than 80% of the minimum standard for the employees of the enterprises in this city in that year. The minimum standard of sickness leave wage or sickness relief fee for enterprise employees does not include pension, medical treatment, unemployment insurance premium and housing provident fund which should be paid by individual employees.
